SHINee - NYLON Magazine

“They are not family and they are not my closest friends. There’s no way I could explain them. “Member” is the best word for them.” - Key (GQ Korea, 2010)
This picture brings back some thoughts about what Key said a couple of years back in an interview, and also my feelings about SHINee as a whole.
I think it’s safe to say that despite their stark differences and tendency to be associated with closer friendships outside of the group, SHINee has grown a lot together over the past years and the dynamics they’ve nurtured between them is just amazing to watch.
No one actually knows if Key still regards the members as strictly co-workers, but I’m completely alright with that. The boys see each other almost daily, and it’s only natural they have family and other friends they’re closer to. I’m in no position to say whether or not he appreciates, and cares for the rest to a degree fans hope for. But I know he, and the other members, have their own rapport and support system.
At the end of the day, SHINee is made up of five boys who have been put together (honestly without much of a choice) to bring music to the world as one. I’d say they’ve build great camaraderie, and have managed to carve out their own way of looking out for one another without needing the public’s stamp of approval on what is appropriate and what is not.
I think I’ll never stop loving this group. Ever.

I’ve a new-found love for B1A4 and their amazing choreography for ‘What’s Going On?’. SO GOOD.
